Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Pabon enjoys staying active by working out at the gym, playing racquetball and pickleball, as well as spending quality time with her family.

Dr. Sheila Pabon, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and anterior segment surgery. With a focus on cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery techniques, Dr. Pabon brings a wealth of expertise to her practice. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is known for her precision in surgical procedures combined with a warm and compassionate approach to patient care.
Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Dr. Pabon pursued her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then continued her academic journey at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, earning her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2013, graduating at the top of her class.
During her medical training, Dr. Pabon discovered her passion for ophthalmology while conducting research at the Cleveland Clinic. Captivated by the intricate beauty of the eye and the transformative impact of eye surgery on patients’ lives, she embarked on a journey to specialize in the field.
Following her medical internship at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Pabon pursued residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. It was during this time that she developed a particular interest in corneal pathology, leading her to undertake a prestigious corneal fellowship under the guidance of renowned specialist Dr. Francis Price, Jr., at the Price Vision Group.
Dr. Pabon’s expertise extends beyond cornea pathology to include cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disorders and glaucoma. She remains at the forefront of her field, incorporating the latest advancements in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, such as the OMNI procedure, into her practice to provide optimal care for her patients.
In July 2024, Dr. Pabon joined the Atlantic Eye Institute, where she is excited to bring her extensive experience, passion for excellence, and genuine concern for her patients’ well-being to the forefront of her practice.
