Online appointments are now available through our patient portal. These virtual eye exams will allow you to meet securely with one of our board-certified eye doctors all from the comfort and safety of your own home.
Give us a call at (904) 241-7865 or complete our online form. Once your request is received, a member of our staff will contact you to schedule.
After your appointment is scheduled, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download and sign in to the PocketPatient app. If you prefer to use your computer to attend your virtual eye exam, log in to the Patient Portal rather than downloading the PocketPatient app.
Technology Requirements:

One of our ophthalmic technicians will call you within 30 minutes of your appointment time to review the reason for your virtual eye exam and update any changes in your medical history. He or she will also make sure that you were able to successfully access your portal and offer assistance if needed.
Once the doctor is ready to join the virtual eye exam, you will receive an email and a push notification via the PocketPatient app to join the video call. You will have 10 minutes to log in to the PocketPatient app or patient portal and click “Join Video Visit”
The use of electronic communications to provide or receive medical advice and treatment remotely is known as telemedicine. Consider it a virtual visit to your eye doctor’s office where you can receive treatment, diagnosis, advice and more.
Medicare and most commercial medical insurance covers telemedicine. A member of our billing department will confirm with your specific insurance plan and will notify you if your insurance does not provide coverage prior to your visit.
Vision insurance does not currently cover telemedicine.
No. The PocketPatient app is free to download and use.
Convenience is the most common reason. Telemedicine is great for people on the go and those who are either housebound or live in a remote area. It can also be a big time saver because you don’t have to drive to the office and wait for the doctor to see you.
